Silkie thread!

All this talk about silkie chicks is getting me more excited to get my incubator going to hatch some. My hen doesn't lay regularly though, she may lay 2 eggs a week and then not lay again for another 2 weeks, so I can't save eggs for 3 weeks until I get enough eggs to justify turning the incubator on. Here's a picture of the pair

Do any of you guys know silkies roosting preferences?
I'm new to chickens in general...
Should I make them something to roost on at night?
Thanks

Owners of Silkies often say their birds will pile up on the floor to sleep. It must be a Silkie thing to group together.

Our Silkies from day one always slept the night in a nestbox, sometimes 2 to a nest - boys or girls! They would use the 18-inch perching bar during the day but for nighttime they slept in the nestboxes. Better than the floor IMO. We just make sure to clean out the poopy nest straw every morning which isn't much and easy to clean.

Yea, my favorite rooster, Lister, and 2 of my hens will always pile into a single nest box. Thanks for the reply, I didn't know if that was normal or not!
