He's oh-so-pretty though!

I know and I just love him. He's a real sweetie too. So tame and he's gentle with the girls but does his job on fertilizing every egg. He's a great roo, just not the right color. I hate to replace him but he'll get his own girls. I may just keep some that turn out that I would normally sell. If he didn't crow I would make him a house chicken. He would love that. Plopped on somebody's lap as often as he could.

Other than his color he's all nice an fluffy and would be perfect for showing because he loves the attention. If they gave out a sweetness award he'd win it.

Let him sleep in whatever part of hte house is farthest from the bedrooms--preferably also in an area that stays dark.

This past winter I got a few just like him and one that was just beautiful bot of course no particular name for her color besides grey. She was perfect in everyway except her color. When I took all the ones I didn't pick to use for breeding she was one of them. The first person that came by the sale saw her and grabbed her up and told her husband to pay the lady while she headed for their truck to put her in a cage. She was pretty. I have a frizzle just like her that I kept. I have a blue cockereal that I can put in that pen but I want a black fella to go there since there are 3 black girls in there now. I'd like to keep that color going and just move the blue and splash hens in a pen with the blue cockereal. That would give "Pretty Boy" his own pen of misfits. Or I can use him for sizzles. I have to replace him first before I take him out though.

I live in a mobile home................ That should explain it. We can hear the roosters outside and the guinea. We've grown used to it and can sleep thru it but on the few occassions we've had to keep one inside due to an injury it was impossible to sleep or ignore the noise. It just bounces off the walls and right into our ears and vibrates our brains.

Okay...I think I have a recessive thing going on...these are pet quality...They are Partridge and I just hatched some of their chicks....

This is Roo, Leo (he is moulting right now and looks like a guitarist from an 80's rock band)

Now for the shocker...a bunch of good looking partridge babies 8 in total I think...and this one...white

Now there is no possibly way there was a mix up in pens or anything because I only have those three partridge silkies that are even laying age and they are penned together and separate from other birds.

Nope they come from Wegotchickens in TN from her Partridges last year....like I say they are Pet quality. Sweet none the less. Their parents were good looking birds too but you never can tell what babies will look like can ya.

Oh I hear my bantams crowing all the time...they are currently in the garage while new pens and such are being built...I love the sound and sleep right through it when I want to sleep.
