Silkie thread!

i like to get started birds or even chicks my bator unreliable and have been able to hatch my own eggs let alone some elses i think i finlay have good hatch comeing tomarrow

Any input on this little fella or gal? It hatched mid April and is calmer than the 2 little white ones. My house chicken hatched both these in the pictures at the same time. I don't have the other white one pictured but it looks identical to the one in the pic but it's younger and came from a swap egg. I'm thinking the little blue/splash is a pullet. I know it will change in the coming months but ideas would be nice. It's nearly time to sell off the extra's and i'd like some input on this one I may keep.

as of right now I would say your blue bird is a pullet but you never know till they lay an egg. I have had some tricky birds. I really like her. She has a lot more filling out to do but she is off to a great start.

I may keep her and if I decide to sell later I have a blue cockereal I can sell both as a pair or I can make a blue pen. Not sure yet. I know the 2 whites will go. Not fluffy enough for what i'm looking for. I also have a sizzle cockereal that i'm going to sell for sure. His sister is just about to start laying. I won't sell anything till the 25th because there will be a swap nearby on that date. I may be able to trade for some buffs or a white hen or two. I have more chicks that will go. I have some black orphs and 2 cuckoo silkies and an oegb. I just had 16 silkies and sizzles hatch too so in a few weeks i'll have an idea of which ones I want to keep a little longer.

Is it just the lighting in the pics or does it have alot of silver in the hackles already present? If so that is a dq..... It has a nice crest coming in so far and nice wing placement. Really long through the back though. Cushion is kind of narrow and sparse right now (but that may change with age).

It's not silver but a light blue. It's possible it can turn silver because the roo has silver from the top of his head to his shoulders. I have another cockereal that I plan to keep for the roo to a blue pen. I'll have to get a good pic of him. He's got pin feathers on his head but he's crowing and hatched out this winter so he's a good 6 months old.
