Silkie thread!

It looks a lot like my silkie over EE chicks.

This little chick hatched under my bearded white silkie. It has 5 toes on each blue foot, it's bigger than its silkie sibling, it has a very adorable beard, and it shows no sign of a crest. What does it sound like it would be? I have a (what we were told) partridge silkie rooster, SS rooster, and several silver laced brahma roosters.

Please help with my silkie. She is about 7 weeks and I've been noticing her head twitching really bad when she's tired. I'm not sure what it is. She eats and drinks and is very active. Any ideas of what I can do for her

Ok, katatonic123. Except, the eggs she sat on have to be all silkie and I only have one EE and she's a hen in a whole different coop. No one can get in the coop this little chick hatched in unless I let them in. Any other ideas?

@silkiecuddles I think speckled Sussex chicks have that same striped chipmunk patterning too. I found a couple on a Google image search that had some of the same facial markings.

Obviously a chick alien egg from outer space was deposited under your broodie. I would keep that adorable chick under tight wraps till you find out it's true purpose on this planet.

That would make sense. Got rid of the SS rooster yesterday cause he's was mean, so no more of this little guy

Also, I have what we were told is a partridge silkie rooster. But he has no crest and no beard. His babies with my white bearded silkie hen were all beautiful bearded hens

When chickens come down with CRD they keep shaking their heads and sometimes so violently through the night they never get any rest - which only further exacerbates their immunity with more stress. Not seeing your chick I can't say whether it's "twitching" or "shaking" her head. A cockerel got shipped to me who acquired CRD symptoms from the stress of shipping and a new environment and I had to take him to the vet he was shaking his head so hard - it was worse at night when he was trying to sleep. He ate/drank just fine but just kept annoyingly shaking his head. The vet prescribed Baytril orally for me to administer for 7 days and by day 3 he was no longer exhibiting symptoms but we continued the Baytril for the full 7 days. CRD symptoms show up for a myriad of reasons and low-immunity will bring on CRD. Go to a bird vet for correct diagnosis and to get the Baytril injections or oral med. Chicks are delicate and the sooner you get a proper diagnosis the sooner the chick will recover before it gets too weak.
