Here's a most valuable link to keep bookmarked . If you have caught it early enough it should be completely reversible . Just remember to check the that the tape is properly in place every day. Also be careful when removing tape. In my last hatch I had one with curled toes and now at 10 weeks , I can't pick her out from the others.

She may be Bantam Silkie, I just got 11 Bantam Silkies 2 weeks ago as chicks, and Silkies are VERY low layers.

I am sorry if i post on the wrong thread. I am a new member.
I really want a silkie and I've done research so I'm aware they don't provide many eggs and are very broody.
I have an ameraucana and a maran, please keep in mind they are only 3 weeks old as of yesterday. I wanted to know
if its ok to get one and if there will be any problems? We are planning to have 4 total the other one is a Cochin,
whom i get to pick up next week and is also a baby.

2 of my tsc silkies have straight combs, they look exactly like silkies not silkie nixes just straight comb

It's not uncommon for a pure Silkie to hatch with a single comb. Just a genetic blooper.

I personally would try to get the silkie as close to the same time and age as the cochin and put a screen barrier (1/4" hardware cloth would work) up in the brooder between them and the other 2 chicks so they can see but not touch each other. At that young of an age you shouldn't have to do it long but just wait until the babies are a little bigger, probably 2 weeks and then try removing the screen but keep them monitored for a while to make sure there's no fighting. Having 1 silkie and all others being large breeds isn't usually an issue. I currently have 1 silkie with 8 standard size chicks at about 6 weeks old with no issue, and in the past I had 1 silkie with 4 standard size birds of the same age and around 5 weeks was introduced to 4 one year old large breed hens without issue.

At 3 weeks of age there should be no issues. My silkies happily integrate with other breeds.
