Silkie thread!

I was sold a supposedly one year old silkie hen. Was told she had been laying awhile and that she had just finished setting. Now reading more and that roosters and hens can be similar, I'm just worried that she's not a she. No crowing had occurred, but she's not even half the size of my red sex links, my buff and my EE. What do you guys think?

She looks henny to me... If she had just finished setting, she should still be bald on her underside area, or at least just starting to grow back in. I had a Lavender hen that never got quite as big as my other girls, and would look even smaller after brooding a clutch due to losing a little weight and plucking breast feathers. Hope that helps! ^,^

Today was a terrible rainy day and my yellow girl had gotten herself fully soaked running around outside. I was worried that she might be too cold since its getting on winter here. She kept squatting down when I went to see her so I ended up picking her up with a towel and blow-drying her. She was so good about it and didn't move at all (probably because the blowdryer was loud) but after I was done she ran off into the rain again lol

Oh wow lol so my silkies aren't even silkies!? Seems like common practice for TSC lol
Thank you very much, everyone!!

TSC NEVER sells just silkies. They will ALWAYS, *ONLY* sell bantams. Sometimes they will be only feather legged; sometimes only clean legged; sometimrs they get the assorted, which is a combo of all kinds of bantams. They will also ONLY be sold as st.run; never pullets. The bantams are not sexed at the hatchery.
