Silkie thread!

Not very likely. Black chicks often have bits of white. Adult feathers will come in black.

Darn. I was aware that blacks often have a bit of white. I just thought that because these aren't really symmetrical and seem to be where he has pigment holes in the skin, that I might just have something really interesting looking...I'll call them panda silkies! lol Thanks for your help. Do you think maybe next time you could crush my dreams less?

Heh heh...Sorry. But you know nothing is really absolute when it comes to color. If I'm wrong you can put it in my face. It won't be the first time.

I behind and trying to catch so sorry I didn't post this sooner. I am immediately skeptical of both those places b/c it seems like they are trying to capitalize on the name Sand Hill preservation center in IA. Here is their website. http://www.sandhillpreservation.com/pages/poultry_catalog.html
I may be completely wrong on my skepticism but I'd do some research!

The only birds I originally found the breeder on craigslist I have had nothing but problems with. Even after talking with this person for a year, even though she is NPIP cert. Nothing but problems, heartache, stress& sleepless nights. So just be careful. I also have a friend who sells on Craigslist and she has wonderful birds. So it can go both ways.
Has anyone ever gotten any silkies from Spring Hill Poultry Conservatory? I saw several ads for chicks and eggs on Craigslist. One ad says it's located in Sandy Hill FL and another says Spring Hill Fl. They look to be the same thing tho. It says it's dedicated to preserve heritage poultry, so I'm assuming they're good quaility.

Anyone ever had a hen with this large of a comb at 8 weeks? (By chhhaaaaance)
I know it's gotta be a rooster, but I've just been watching this little poofball grow.
His head crest has ballooned since this photo.
It's completely ROUND, and so perfectly fluffy with no stragglers. He's half EE half silkie.

He's probably 10 weeks now. And is just sooo fluffy.
