Silkie thread!

Corrid IS amprolium! and i THINK but won't swear to the fact it should have a 2 week withdrawal before eating eggs? anyone else know about that? i have used and pretty sure the vet said not to eat the eggs for 2 weeks.

Amprolium has no witholding period. If you have the Protozoan in your soil it will only effect the chicks once they are on the ground. How they are packaged or sent has little or no bearing on it.
Amprolium is however a thiamine inhibitor and it starves the cocci to death , unfortunately if used over an extended period of time it can also cause a thiamine deficiency in the host and ultimately lead to wryneck.

That is not correct. Many sources confirm that there is no egg withdrawal necessary.

My 3 days old Silkie chicks. :)

i think his point was that shipped chicks are already so stressed that adding one more thing like a bout with cocci wasn't fair...that is how he made it sound...he said make it easy on them ...thats all....my adult birds are unlikely to get cocci so i am not even going to fret about withholding time! i have great drainage in my yard even in really wet years....and have not had an adult come down with it except for when i had a maecks episode my first year...then their immune system was so down they did also have that ....
