Hold them up so that you are both at eye level with each other. If you can see their eyes, they can see, if not, use baby nail scissors and trim muff and/or crest feathers just enough so that you can see their eyes.

If you trim or pluck will it grow back? I have a few with lg topnots and would prob benefit from a trim

Plucking will start regrowth immediately; trimming will not--it will grow back at the next molt.

edited to add: it is always better to trim a bit too little and need to go back and trim some more. Trimming too much means it won't grow back for a long time, and the poor bird will be stuck with a bad haircut until it molts.

I was wondering how her back looks for show quality? Trying to learn more about the breed and how they look. All the pictures I have seen have them from the side and not from the top. She is still pretty young yet

yes; or they could have spread an illness such as encephalitis (or others) to him.

If you think he has mites or lice, bathe him with dog/cat flea/tick or human head lice shampoo. Follow instructions on the bottle. Make sure to thoroughly spray down the coop with a good insecticide labeled for animal premises, and replace all bedding. Make sure t thoroughly spray into all cracks and crevases, and on the back side of wood.

While searching I found a post (2009?) where u suggested using hair tape. Do u still recommend using this and where can I get it? Thanks, Nikki
