Silkie thread!

How do you guys come up with names for your farms, websites, or silkie addictions? I know some of you have chosen names based on the area you live. I wanna come up with a name but have no idea where to start. I'd share my ideas if you promise not to use them.......JK I've thought about being "Hub City Silkies", "County Line Silkies", "Southern Belle Silkies," and a few others. Hub City is a nick name for our county, I live on the county line, and of course I'm from the South.......

I used to put rubbing alcohol on my dog/s foot pads to cool her off/ Would that work with silkies? Of course it would be a lot more work than some of these other ideas that sound real good. I will be making mud puddles tomorrow I think.

I've got my first Silkie chick!!

Can't tell really what color it is due to the tinted glass of the incubator, but I'm thinking Splash. Of course the marked end of the egg landed so I couldn't read it. One more is zipping, a white; and two more are pipping, a black and a partridge! Very cute and active chick, with a vaulted skull. Now...would someone please explain to me what the deal is with the "vaulting"?? Pros/cons, anything to watch for? What is the purpose of it? It's only day 20, so will probably have more hatching tonight and tomorrow, and...Guess it'll be "chicken TV" on tonight's menu!

When I was younger I remember my grandmother telling me about her goose she had called Sundown. So I went with Sundown Silkies.

Do not use alchohol to cool them down! It brings the body temp down way too quickly and can cause shock! If you have an overheating emergency with animal or human do it gradually!!
