Thanks! I thought so too. But I googled pictures of Buff Silkies and this picture came up and it's almost identical to how mine are colored.

Thanks! I've never heard of Red Partridge can they be bred to a "regular" partridge?

Whoops... saw these at the feed store and couldn't resist... sure they are hatchery stock but dang they are cute! (Also a Silver Phoenix in there)

I have regular Partridge and don't breed so someone else will have to answer that question.

The boys are so much more colorful and stunning.


My boy had a lot of darker coloring in tail and crest.


The girl was just a little bundle of almost even coloring with just a touch of deeper gray in her crest.

Fancychooklady your birds are so beautiful... wish you lived closer so I could buy some from you! The Red Partridges hardly seem to exist in the US... I'm tempted to get some Red Bantam Cochins and try making them from scratch!
