Silkie thread!

this is my silkie hen she is a splash i think she is about a year old i just bought her about a week ago, i was wondering if she is good enough for a show?

We just were given two adult silkie hens from a friend, and we've never had the breed before. We're kind of stumped about their behavior (we've had many bantam breeds and are pretty experienced with poultry in general). One of them has adapted very well - is active and eating/drinking, and protects her silkie sister. The sister...well, I'm not quite sure how she's doing. It's been a week now, and we've never seen her eat/drink, and she rarely moves from her little corner in the coop. We handle her daily and put her in front of food/water, and she's sweet as can be. She will coo at us as we cuddle her, and flick her little head around. But she doesn't walk around when we put her down (even when we nudge her) and I'm worried that she's not able to fend for herself.

She has a very large beard/muffs and impressive crest. I also worry that she just can't see at all. Do you occasionally need to trim up the fluff near their faces? Any advice at all for a new mom of two adorable silkies?

I am sooo excited! This Friday we are going to pick up our first ever silkie chicks! They are coming from a lovely breeder with the sweetest hens! We are getting one blue, one black, one splash and one white, but it may escalate to more... Does anyone have any Silkie-specific advice for me, although I am an experienced chicken keeper, I am a newbie to Silkies. Thank you ! Will try and post some pics when we get them home!!!

Some people seem to think they need to trim Silkie faces or Silkie butts. I've had my two bearded hens for 5 years and never trimmed them anywhere! They naturally nibble each other's eye-fluff and just around their eyes. They see quite well when they really need to. Mine have free-ranged the backyard since we first got them along with a couple large fowl. No problems -- but everyone feels differently about trimming or not to trim and I just let nature handle it. They get into so many cobwebs and debris while foraging that the body feathers/fluff/crest/beard/feathered feet just naturally wears down. I am concerned about your little hen that isn't being active. I would've taken mine to the vet if it lasted more than 24 hours but that's just me.
OUR SILKIE HEN CRESTS/BEARDS TAKE A BEATING IN OUR BACKYARD RANGING BUT THEY'RE HAPPY:
