No prob... and I would look down the feather shafts to verify if it is splash or paint, like Fancychooklady suggested... splash or paint can have a range of looks, but its more common for people to mistake splash for paint rather than paint for splash...![]()
where is the feather shafts?
The feather shafts are the parts of the feathers that connect it to the skin...
Pick a dark color spot and spread the fluff apart... look to see if the dark color goes all the way to the skin or if it is just on the outer parts of the feathers...
i guess they go all the way down mostly
The black in paint goes all the way to the skin, in splash the colour is only at the top end of the feather. Hard to tell without pulling the feathers apart.![]()
So if you poured a bucket of paint on a chicken, it would likely go to the skin. If you just splashed one, it wouldn't. I might be able to remember that![]()
The lighting isn't very good, but they look like partridge . When you say ' mixed ' do you mean mixed breed ? They look like silkies to me.![]()
