No prob... and I would look down the feather shafts to verify if it is splash or paint, like Fancychooklady suggested... splash or paint can have a range of looks, but its more common for people to mistake splash for paint rather than paint for splash...

The feather shafts are the parts of the feathers that connect it to the skin...

Pick a dark color spot and spread the fluff apart... look to see if the dark color goes all the way to the skin or if it is just on the outer parts of the feathers...

If it's not solidly, clearly colored all the way down, I would stick with splash... just my opinion though...

The black in paint goes all the way to the skin, in splash the colour is only at the top end of the feather. Hard to tell without pulling the feathers apart.

So if you poured a bucket of paint on a chicken, it would likely go to the skin. If you just splashed one, it wouldn't. I might be able to remember that

Paints are black leakage on a white base while splash is dilute blue so the background tends to look light blue and not as white. Some splash can look whiter and some bluer, though. The spots on a splash tend to look more freckled rather than dark spotty, if that makes sense. Splash don't show any spots in their down while paints do so the color on a paint effects the entire feather shaft and not just the tips.

The lighting isn't very good, but they look like partridge . When you say ' mixed ' do you mean mixed breed ? They look like silkies to me.

Mixed colors, sorry. I should have been more specific. A lady down the road from me gave them to me for free bc I bought the 5 chicks (show quality lines, only $20 total!) that she had. I prefer the mixed colors over standard even if I can't show them. I think they're gorgeous. I can just never find any that look nice. This was a shock. I'll try to get some better pictures some time today. She said they've been broody for a while, so they aren't as fluffy as usual. I still think they look pristine though. XD
