Silkie thread!

I had a broody silkie (surprising, right?) hatch out some babies. And 2 other pullets have decided to play babysitter. They never leave her side or the babies. I also hatched some chicks about a week earlier. I sold them but picked two to keep. I thought I would try to put them with the mom and babies since they are only a week older. Well the mom was fine with it. She could have cared less and acted like the more the merrier. But one of the "babysitters" started going after the two newcomers. She chases them all around the coop and pecks at them! So I took them back inside. What the heck! Any advice?
@rubynala97 I meant to quote you when I wrote the above post : )

I'm no longer getting email notifications. I did an update on my phone so maybe that messed something up. But not a single notification is coming through, so I'm glad you messaged me! :)

When will silkie cockerels typically start crowing? Mines 3 months and I barely even here him peep.

Each one is different. I've had them grow at 5 weeks old and I've had them wait till they are 7 months old!

I started with no paint silkies and really wanted to start breeding them. And in just a short time period my paint flock has grown! From ones that are just a couple days old to a year old, I love seeing all these spots in the yard!

Gorgeous as always, hon! :)

I hatched some eggs from Golden Egg Farm back in February and in the last couple of weeks one of them has really had a growth/maturity spurt. It's gorgeous but I noticed its non-bearded. Does anyone know what the results of breeding a non-bearded with a bearded would be? Thanks.

Didn't see anyone answer you... you should get 50/50 bearded and nonbearded... just cull out the non bearded and breed the bearded offspring back to a bearded...
