So is there no way to tell for sure??? because these are my three lose silkies one one laid a egg!!! the black one is very sweet and stands and acts like a hen but I swear crowed!! the blue part hasn't crowed but stands more upright and drops its wing and circles everyone!!! and roo well he is 100%%% a rooster so I know he didn't lay the egg!!! so its between the two!!!

Your black silkie is the hen.....bet ya anything! Looking at your blue and how you described its actions.... that is all rooster!

#1 is definitely the egg layer, those others are both cockerels!

Ok I need help guys 2 out of my 3 hatched silkies have started crowing. One left. It's the most fluffy but has a similar comb to the others. The white one I bought sexed as a pullet. This fluffy partridge was the biggest from day one and has turned out to be the most fluffy. The other partridge and buff are crowing so I know for sure they are roosters. I'm desperate to figure this out.. any help would be much appreciated. They are about 11 weeks old now.

#1 is definitely the egg layer, those others are both cockerels!

that's what I thought until I heard her crow!! but it said on line hens do that sometimes but my breeder said only when you have no roosters!!!
