Silkie thread!

It depends on the judge, but I think most times, they make sure they are in the right color and then mostly judge on Silkie type and features... At least that's what I've seen at the shows I've been to. I've taken correctly colored Partridge and then some that are not quite the right color... too dark or too red... and it always seems that the typier one wins, no matter what color it is... Fluff rules

I am posting on behalf of someone who is looking for some older silkie girls. She wants to start a flock of silkies and is not interested in showing yet

so she was looking for more pet quality right now. I think she was looking at getting between 4-6 girls.

Here are some pics. of my silkies----not show quality, but I really love them and their cute personalities.

I had to share my Silkie pictures, too. These guys are 2 months old and I hatched them from shipped eBay eggs. I'm pretty sure the colors are right but not 100% on the grey, especially. Comments (good and bad) appreciated.

. Wow. I would use the black with your blacks especially if she is from black lines. But that's just me. You can ship me that one splash any day.

I am new to silkies, but have jumped in with both feet. I noticed the other day that my black girls all have the same sheen. I know that in general on most other breeds it is just the roosters that get this sheen. So is it a desired thing in silkies?
Thanks so much!
