Silkie thread!

I just got my very first Silkie. She is 1 1/2 years old. She has a beard but its not a full beard sadly. I called her Sweet Heart because she is one and she just loves to be cuddled. She comes right to me so I can pick her up.

Wait until she molts, it may fill in better because she either is non bearded or bearded, no in between.

Your so lucky. My Silkie is very standoffish even though I did handle her a lot when she was young. She has never enjoyed human friendship. I want to cuddle her all the time she's so cute, but I respect her personality.

Thank you! Sadly, just a couple days ago, he got something terrible and died within a couple of hours. He was my favorite... He came when I called and loved to be cuddled. Aw man, I really want him back. But thanks!

How do you know it's a cockerel? DNA tests? Looks quite feminine to me.

Well this photo is when he was younger. He crowed about 10 times after he was showed then stopped. Thunder always was a little goofy dude. I say "was" because sadly he passed away of some bad illness.

I have two silkies that are 6 months old today, they have never crowed and they have no combs at all, just like my silkie girls. However on the heads they may have streamers, but then again they have sheaths, like pin feathers growing in. If they are boys, shouldn't they at least have some kind of combs by now, their sibling, started crowing at 3 months old. I am praying they are both females, but guess time will tell. Also, they have never tried to mate with the silkie hens they are in with or do the wing dance. I will try and get some pictures of them later. Thanks

I'm sure this has been asked so many times, but please help me sex my silkies! I have four, only two are bearded. 19 weeks old. Sorry if the picture quality is bad. They always look fine until I post them here lol.

I don't know about the other others, but silkies 3 & 4 I'm positive are roosters.
