there isn't any water in the tub. I just wanted to dry them out. Our first snowfall and if I dont keep the ramp shoveled they won't use it. Of course I didn't think about it until I got home and they were soaked. So, we brought them inside. They are drying out nicely and happily crowing in my tub. Or should I say singing? Rather loudly I may add. Oh for the love of my silkies! Lol!!!Misery must love company -- they don't seem spooked at all by the experience when sharing the water.

Ok I need help. my issue is the black one is so sad I got her to eat some bread but she is so sad!! my friend said her lover died protecting her I guess what I am wondering is there anything I can do to help her?? my black rooster was calling the hens to scratch and when she didn't come he picked up a piece of scratch and tried to feed it to her!!! idk what I should do!
Green-eyed Silkies don't meet the ABA SOP for eye color but she certainly is a keeper for her uniqueness!
She finally ate some bread my rooster feed her she was already upset when I picked her up!! she's 2years old so it could be either! her lover died protecting her so I hope she isn't depressed! my friend had lots of birds and something keeps killing them so I took some!I had a new juvenile that got shipped to me and she wouldn't eat for 3 days! We kept offering her different kinds of feed -- turkey grow, layer pellets, 3-grain scratch, wild bird seed mix, produce, etc. She just wouldn't eat for 3 days. Finally on the 3rd day we saw her hungry enough to go eat. A new environment and change can greatly affect a chicken's integration into a new place with new chickens and it takes some a while to get used to their new pecking order rank. Molting or broody Silkies kinda lose their appetites and act lethargic too. Are those new feather shafts in her crest? That's what my black Silkie looks like when she's growing in new crest fluff.
