I just love the molts where it looks like a chicken or 4 exploded. It always makes me do head counts. Then you have pre-plucked birds for a week.

Here's our Blue Wheaten Ameraucana's mini-explosion. This darn bird molted two or three times a year instead of one big molt. I never really saw bare skin on her in the 3 years we had her. Ameraucanas are sweet birds around Silkies but have too much under-fluff to live comfortably in our SoCal heatwaves.

I got a smooth Silkie, this frizzle and a showgirl at the same time....I also have 2 sweet Polish, a d'Uccle rooster and one of the 2 cochins that I think will be good gentle flockmates for the silkies so far. Even the new Brahma from the set that is now 7 weeks old is really sweet and I think looks promising to stay in the more gentle pen.

Hey Guys I Back With Some News And A Question. A while back i posted some chicks who i though would be cuckoo since they had baring well 7 are turning to be be grey's or silver penciled partridge silkies i have 1 that might be cuckoo i am waiting on that one more to grow and i have 2 porcelain silkies one is light one has more lavender coloring and 2 partridge and 2 blues so that is my update on them. will hopefully get update photos

And now for the question i have came down with another case of wry neck on one of the grey chick it is about a month old. She was very bad but i gave her all the meds she needed and she is now getting the straight neck back again no attacks and is now drinking and eating but i am kinda getting concerned i have to give her her meds and water through a syringe and she is getting water in her nose a little each time she drinks because she moves her head and she is sneezing a little here or there and i heard she can get it in her lungs but could that hurt her or she would have to gt alot of water in her lungs to hurt her??
