one of my silkie hens has gone broody.
well has already been broody but went broody on the roost!
as you might have already heard.
but, getting a milk crate with a piece of wire on top.
three eggs, one campine x and two mutts.
so, locked her in the crate overnite and, ta-da!
opened the lid and she stayed there!
oh what a miricle! how many broodies do you have?
right now including, silkie and mother hen with one chick. i have 3.

I only have 1 who goes broody, though when the eggs hatch the other hen tries to "share" the mothering role.
this time its not going to happen at all.

I'm going to make it look fancy some time tomorrow to later tonight.
The jealously between them drives me crazy!
I caught her drowning one the chicks, its why im not letting her near them this time
i am always checking to
see more updates!

whoa! what happened to your comment. it is halfway stuck between mine!
OMG! the poor chick. i am really worried, we gotta go to town and i gotta
be with my hen and her eggs and the chick. tomorrow is when it will need
to start eating! i put a bit of water in there and some chick starter. i also
must make sure that mother hen stays on the rest of the eggs. she will
want to go and look after her chick and the others will get cold! but i
think she will stay on the nest.

I know it went weird, and i thought its too much effort to fix.
I'm buying/stocking up on my feed for them and more hay tomorrow.
before i put the broody and the chicks in the hutch imma have to clean it.

I would be worried about her too, as its starting to get hot here i have to boot my hen off her nest so she drinks.
last time she didnt drink i was so worried about her to the point i couldnt sleep.

It is, like mine would eat but wouldnt drink, I had to force her to drink cause i was so worried:/

another thing about leaving! BYC!!!! i am love it sooo much.
mum just said ''no late night tonight, we have to get up early.''
usually to get all the animals ready and stuff and everything else.
but i can hear mum dialling the phone, so should have half an
hour or more!
