I just hatched 7 babies from my project pen. Love these little fluffy butts!!

I love those light colored ones. Very cute.

I'm going to advertise this lady on Craigslist. Hoping you are all with me that she's a hen. I was wondering if she would be SQ? I don't plan to get into the NB variety so she needs a new home. Plus she's buff. No offense but it's not my favorite of the silkie colors. She's still a baby and full of pin feathers so she's not too fluffy right now.
You wouldn't want a blue non-bearded hen, would you?

About 8 months old.

They are very pretty, thanks for sharing. I'd love to see more pictures of them as they grow.
Binkus and Stinkus. Female on the left and male on the right. I trimmed their muffs and crests because they are in a breeding pen and I feed FF. I bought them from M Best when they were three and half months old. They are now almost 6 months. Their back coloring is beautiful chinchilla gray.

Whoever mentioned my black silkie rooster looked like he has a twisted beak, I think you're right. It isn't very twisted but very very slightly. So, the question is, when should I get rid of him? I only have 5, and it is still winter. If I get rid of him now, will the others be too cold for the pile? I have one who roosts alone and doesn't pile up. Maybe I just answered my own question LOL. It gets cold here, it is southern maine after all. But, if I wait until spring, what if I have someone broody already? or, how long does the male dna stay in the female?

I have a silkie and a LF polish roo living outside together, just the two of them(no extra source of heat). They are fine. You can get rid of him now if you would like so you don't end up with accidental offspring with the twisted beak male.

Even being a non-bearded, I don't think she should be advertised as "show quality", maybe breeder quality though. She "could" be shows because there aren't many non bearded silkies that I have seen at shows, she may be the only one there

The only time I took my non-bearded to a show, she was the only one there that I could find.

That is really fantastic!  Wish I could help sex those chicks, but they are too young for me. :)

They are too young for me to guess also. Over the next few months they will change so much and eventually you will be able to tell.

It was noticeable to me, because I had a silkie last year with a crooked beak.
