Silkie thread!

She is. Here is another picture of her:

That's a great shot.

The size is okay, but they are so light weight they will tip every time someone gets in or out, and eggs will be broken. A similarly sized clay flower pot will work and not tip. The short ones (I think for bulbs and azaleas and the like) are a good choice.
Never thought of using a flower pot for a box for them.

She is pretty. I just went to the PPBA show and the judge said gray should look like a Japanese grey in the color. The Japanese were mostly black with silver around their
400
neck and on the chest. He said there should be no penciling or ticking anywhere else. Your bird looks closer to that than mine. Here is a picture of the Japanese.

I think silver partridge and grey are different from each other because of what the judge said. Seems like silver partridge would have penciling like a regular partridge. But I might be wrong? I would like it if they were both recognized.
They can have penciling or no penciling, but penciling shows up more prevalent from what I have read. I will have to find it again and post.

We hatch our duck eggs in an incubator and don't mist then. We get a pretty good hatch rate from them.

Thanks!
Oh sure! She's about 5 mos.

That's the best I could get....?
Pretty color! Looks like a girl. :D
I have a Silkie hen who hatched out a bunch of call ducklings last year. :)

Guess that cinches it!
Today a woman contacted me to buy some of my culls through Craigslist. I didn't give her my address until the last minute and of course she stood me up. I was so frustrated not only because she didn't show up but because she had my address. I don't want to start being paranoid, but if I give my exact location to her or someone else, they could perfectly break in and steal my birds. At night, they are all in locked up coops but during the day they are in the runs and those are not locked. I am starting to think it would be better to drive in an unknown location with a few birds that I would put in a kennel crate. How do you sell your culls? Do you meet at your house?
My husband always takes them to a public location. We get $5 up front via paypal or mail so we don't get stood up.
