I have the most terrible news I can ever imagine typing here...

My barn..

My birds.

My Clementine.

All gone...

The barn caught fire and nothing is left. I don't even know.. I don't know what to say. My heart is broken.

Oh my word! I am so very sorry for you loss. I can't imagine....my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I feel like, through all the posts and pictures posted, I came to know you, your birds, and your beautiful farm. Reading your post, I was devastated. I went to your website, and watched your slideshow of all your beautiful babies, and cried. Again, all of our thoughts are with you. Through tragedy, we learn to cherish what we have in the time that we have them. Definitely hugging all my babies a little tighter tonight.

yeah i'm glad he is so quiet. I have also found that he does it until I let him out then he stops. Kind of like he's just saying "Let me out, let me out, let me out" over and over... Now the car is a different story haha! He loves car rides and crows and crows

I have to wear ear plugs. I have a small hyundai accent hatchback and it echos bad! I think he thinks we are going to a show, he had a blast at the congress.

you know random thought here, but I think they should make helmets for these darn silkies... like the ones they have on bobble head football players!

I have a Chevy Aveo, hatchback also. Darn small! lol But it was an upgrade to the old '01 Kia Rio.

That was even smaller and falling apart. lol I can't say that I have taken any of my chickens for car rides..except for when I've brought some home. They travel quietly in my little cat carrier. lol

Oh wait! Ace would like to show off his new helmet. I think the blue flames go nicely with a splash cockerel, don't you think?

I feel so badly for your devastating loss. You have been such a wonderful member of this group and it saddens me to think of you going through this tragedy. I can't imagine how you must feel.

I'm devastated. Fox attack. He killed one of my silkie pullets. :'( And my BR is missing. I'm sure the fox killed her, to. I'm pretty sure a fox killed 'em. :'(

I cant believe that disaster has struck twice on this day. I am so very sorry for you.

a helmet for a silkie is not a bad idea at all it would help some silkies protect their head to prevent neurological disorders

No words to express my sadness at your loss. Wish I lived closer so I could help with clean up and starting over. If you want silkie eggs let me know I will ship you some to restart your flock most of my hens are from cat dance and one from marg best.

Caught this photo yesterday of my broody silkie while she was out for her daily stretch. She's about 8 months old. The hen in the back is also broody...

I have a question for those who bred silkies. My avi shows my whites with who we arent sure if she is red or partridge. The question is what color chicks is possable from her. The male is white. My 15yr old is a smartypants and said."Mom everyone knows if you mix white with red you get pink"
