Hi Everyone. I know it's been forever since I've had time to post and I'm sorry. Life has been a blur this past month.
PLEASE HELP...
I have an emergency and need some quick advice: One of my silkie chicks (4-5 weeks old) has a very twisted neck. The first I noticed symptoms was last night and I just thought she was looking at me sideways (like chickens sometimes do). However, this morning her neck is almost upside down. I'm so sad and frustrated for this helpless creature and don't have a clue how this happened. The LF chickens free range but these babies are in a tractor surrounded with 1/2 inch hardware cloth........Some of my LF chickens will try to peck through the little holes if given a chance, though.
-Is this condition cure-able?
-What can I give the chick to help it? (Prednisone, Vitamins?)
-Should I hand feed and water it? I don't think there's any way for her to get her head in the feeder and waterer?
-Is it contagious?
-Should I keep it isolated?
Any suggestions will be helpful
