She's always a fun one to walk down the road or take places

And Ice just loves hanging out with her. We have a dog visiting right now until wednesday, he is also really good so far with Ice, hasn't tried to go after her or anything. Sedona isn't very fond of him though, he's always been an only dog and snaps and growls at her if she comes near him. He'll get over himself though.

Super cute chicks...they should be fun to watch develop...you'll have some interesting colors...the white with the single comb just don't breed but it'll be cute anyway...congrats
no intentions of breeding these chicks. I have nicer silkie eggs coming that have their own pens if i ever want to get into breeding- these guys are just pets

I was planning on ordering silkies from Cj for this Spring. I live in Mass, near Boston. I know the minimum to order is 6 , and she is adding extra 2. I want to have a couple of Bantam Cochins too so I realized 8 silkies would be too many. Would any one in my area , near Woburn Mass, Boston, care to buy a few Silkies ? Let me know. Michele

I have a room that is cooler, so I will store them there. When you say "hand shift" do you mean turning them the other side? Just wondering... isn't it better to use the egg turner?
They are sitting open in the bottom half of an egg carton. I slide my hand over them so they shift a bit. I have many 100% hatches and as mentioned people do fine without moving them at all so who knows if it's even necessary.

It's been very rainy the past few days, and my birds are looking, well, shall we say, 'rough'. This bird right here...

is the same bird as this pic. What a difference a little water and mud can make!

My FB friends I think have lost interest as well..I've noticed my likes dwindle if I post more than one per day. The people that actually do like my pictures are the few 'chicken friends' that I have. And the people who aren't comment things like 'what is that? Is that a dog? Can you eat it?"

I hear you. I recently posted pictures of my two silkie roosters on FB and one of my friends wrote, "Is that supposed to be cute?" She lives in L.A. so I don't give her too hard of a time. I think "non-chicken" people have a hard time understanding our chicken obsessions. Especially the Silkie's for some reason.

Something chewed a hole in the actual wall of my building!! I'm glad I caught it today, because it wouldn't take much more to tear it out. The whole building is make of particle board (we didn't build it- just turned it into the chicken building. I just noticed how easy it is to tear up the wall :( We are going to reenforce with it with stronger wood and wired. I need a new building.

My Catdance babies. Lavenders, Porcelain, Buff, and split (wonder if he'll be black or blue- I'm really hoping black. He has a little halo around his head.

And how people line up chicks, all looking at the camera- I have no idea. _Pam Pittman

This is my buff silkie rooster. I am keeping one silkie rooster per color and was wondering if he looked good enough to keep as my breeding rooster. Thanks!!
