Silkie thread!

Hi! We are just putting the finishing touches on our newly built "Poultry Palace". We will have a pen just for the Silkies. Right now it is just an empty pen. I have never had adult Silkies so I'm not sure what to put in there for them as far a low perch? Or nothing? Just lots of bedding (hay) for them to sleep on? On the floor? low platform? Starting from scratch here so any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I have used different things.. a 2x4 set on 2x4 blocks, some of mine love bricks! ( some bricks arranged into a "platform" ) one only wants to roost on the waterer , ugh! Most of mine sleep on the floor in the shavings though..

I've had some chicks hatch out this color and they turned out looking like this.

I gave all these chicks away, I was making room for my Catdance chicks at the time, so those are the only pictures I have. But I did see one of them almost all grown up and the cockerel looked just like daddy Curly. Apparently Curly is a gray.
There he is with some of his girls.

Could it be just bad genetics that popped out as pink skin and 4 toes? It does happen occasionally, doesn't it?
Such a beautiful color! I will update on how they turn out, mystery chick too.

My Catdance eggs started hatching on day 19 and today is day 21 and they are still coming! Nine out, one still in the bator with two pipped eggs. Three still unpipped. They are so wonderful. I've waited a long time and it was so worth it. My babies are just a day or less old in these pictures.

I kept the eggs seperated at lock down so I could mark them with food coloring. Some of the babies kind of got it all over their faces. Silly goofs.

Here they are! I am in love love love.

The Partridge are gorgeous and look different from one another.

The littlest chick was the first to pip on the 19th but took over 28 hours to hatch. One foot has curled toes so I taped it right away with a Hello Kitty bandaid. It works very well for me and the chick. The little doot got it's face all in the food coloring.

The difference in coloring on the two Blue Splash had me perplexed.

The two Porcelains are out of two different pens.

The Lavender is stunning in color. Love it! The Partridge is beautiful too. The Paint has the lightest skin and comb. Very white down. I can't wait to see what it developes like.

Good news! My baby paint (w/ wry neck) is holding it's head up by itself today.. I even saw it pecking at some food! I was starting to loose hope as it was laying upside down crying all night last night.. But after I gave it some vitamins this morning it started walking with its head up right! YAY!

Make sure and keep up treatment for 2 weeks, even if shows to have corrected before then. I did this with my Porcelain and now she is normal. She could not look upward at all before and would scoot with head under her backwards.

Okay, thanks, I will do that for sure! I'm so glad to see even a little improvement. I can't stand to see little babies suffering

They look great! I was wondering about the curled toes. I have a por who is walking a few steps and then laying down and then walking a few steps and then laying down. I was wondering if it has a foot problem. I picked it up and looked at its feet and they look fine from what I can tell. What can I do to help it.? It's chirping happily and eating but seems a little um slow? Also, I had a chick pip and didn't zip for 48 hours! So I helped it out. It's doing great now. I thought it wasn't going to make it because after I helped it out of the shell it laid down in the bator for hours and didn't move around.
