Silkie thread!

I have a newbie question for you silkie gurus. :) 2 of my silkies began having some serious stare-downs and "fighting" yesterday and it's continued into today. The fighting is not the typical chest bumping I've seen all of them do. It's more like real fighting - legs/feet first into the other bird - but they aren't hurting each other. I've suspected these two are roo's. Is this roo behavior - working out the pecking order? Here are a couple pictures of each that may help. Is the behavior likely to get worse? They are still young - 3 months old.

Here is Alice (may go from Alice in Wonderland to Alice Cooper

This is Elvira (or Elvis)

Alice appears to be the dominant one in these events.

I know hens do this sort of stuff also. I just can't remember at what age they stop.

I love their names.

I went to feed store to get a waterer for the grow out coop I talked about earlier. My DD ask for one of the Silkies we did not have a color of. I rejected the first the girl caught because it did not have puffy cheeks. The second did not have black skin or five toes. I've learned to check. Low and behold non of them did. I told the girl that something was going on because Silkies were supposed black skin and five toes. Thank goodness she didn't know any better because then I discovered that I was looking at LF Cochins. I guess the first thing I need to check is the signs.

I still got him for her because he is so cute and Cochins are on my want someday list.

It looks like Elvis to me. Alice, I'm not too sure on. My one silkie roo had a huge walnut comb and was crowing by 3 months. My sultans both turned out to be boys, and the three of them would rumble- like, it looked like cock fighting to me; much more than the rowdy chest bumping the girls were doing. Fwiw. They sure are cute, though!

That is sorta what I was afraid of... (comb and waddles seem strange) Farmer said it was a girl, but I have been dooped by this breed before.

Looking at all these silkies pictures has got me so excited to get ours! My daughter is in 4h and will be showing them at the fair. We ordered 2 white, 2 blue and 2 buff. I sure hope we don't end up with all Roos!

To me they both look like girls.

Im iffy on Elvira but Alice looks like a pullet to me... and if I HAD to guess I would say they both are but you have to consider the source.. I have two blacks that I am trying to figure out and they are older than yours!
I am going to post them :)

To ME, they look like pullets, BUT, the top one may be a cockerel if the comb is large, they both have a feminine shape to them.
