Silkie thread!

This little chick is about 5 weeks old. Her father is a buff and her mother is white. What is the likelihood she'll stay light yellow like she is now, or is she more likely to turn more buff or more white as she gets older?

Thanks!

Very cute!

Here are a few pics! Hatch date was March 20th - so five weeks already! I tried to get the variety of colors...some cooperated...others..not so much

! They are so adorable! I think I would hatch...those fuzzy butts are so delightful and you can bond with them early! Of course it is hard to hold 18... which is what I had hatch! Why not do both? Buy a few part grown and hatch a dozen or so! They are very sweet and inquisitive!

The babies are adorable.

Hi All,
I have to introduce you guys to my new Silkie hen. I have no idea what color she is, but I thought she is so cute and her colors are really unique. Any thoughts on what color she is, or maybe she is a mutt. But I love her anyways

She is so adorable looking I love it, Misty is a good name for her I like Nova as well, she makes me think of a Supernova.

Well... it's done... I brought Nori to my friend's house today so she could take away her suffering... RIP Nori

Beautiful chicks!

So I'm bummed the assorted bantam order that came to our local feed store didn't include any silkies :( so now I'm on the hunt for some silkie chicks in Southern Oregon....any ideas? I'd just order online but only need two or three and too few to meet minimum shipping :(

Check out Craigslist for your area...under "Farm and Garden" and search for "silkie". It seems like there are always silkie chicks offered in my area on CL

So, my blue hen, she wants NOTHING to do with the roosters. she's 2 years old. she runs screaming like something is trying to kill her when they try to mount her. BAH! any way to get her over that? LOL. she's my broody girl, but I never know who's eggs are whos and I only have 2 ladies.. Hmmm.
Maybe she doesn't want any children.
