This is my pullet, this is the first time she's gone broody. Do they sometimes goof up the first time like other animals? Will she abandon ship possibly? I'm wondering if I should have a back up plan

Look for a breeder that has birds that are "show quality" or "exhibition quality". Those are your best chance of getting fluffy birds like mine![]()
They are both just beautiful! My two surviving chicks from my ill-fated hatch. they will be three months old wednesday. Looking pretty goodhaven't convinced myself on gender yet. I think either a boy and a girl, or two girls. One has a definitely larger comb than the other, but no streamers or other signs yet. I guess only time will tell. I would really like one to be a male. I only have one now, and I would like a 'backup' just in case. I don't know what kind of bug they got, they still sneeze from time to time, but the rest of my silkie flock, with whom they were kept for a while, show no signs of it.![]()
Hope they look like my favorite girl when they grow upshe looked very much like they do at that age.![]()
