Never mind. I never get my questions answered, so I don't know why I bother to even post here. Thanks for making a new chicken owner feel sooooo welcome. I feel like I've entered some clique and aren't welcome here.
Sorry you feel this way

I'm located in NC. Well it hatched from a porceiln egg from a reputable breeder's isolated pen. I hope it is what I paid for.

I'd say you're pretty good with your camera. I like how clear all the shots are. Overall quality of the pictures is great. Especially those wing shots.I wouldn't call it photography because I have had no training or anything. I just got my first DSLR, so for now I just like having fun with it.![]()
I love shooting my chickens the most. lol
I was also wondering about this kids color. I would say blue but it is very light and I am not sure how to identify lavender or any other varieties. I am not sure if you can tell from these pictures but, the lady I bought them from claimed they were show quality. I have no idea what show quality would be since I just got into silkies 3 weeks ago because of an impulse buy. However he may be to young to tell quality. * He does have 5 nice toes on each foot. *When all my chicks are older I will post more pictures for opinions.
I think he likes his picture taken.

I went back 20 pages and could not find any post by you, that was 5 days worth of posts. Some of us do just skim, I do if I have fallen behind.
I'm not too far from you, so I know what you're referring to with the humidity!I'm gonna try again with the "leave them alone" method lol. The humidity here is very high so I won't add any water until lockdown and even then just a few drops or so. I have 2 silkie hens i'm quarantining for my friend and they are laying while they are here so she aid I can collect all the eggs and hatch them.
I have two that came out of Catdance eggs marked 'BlS'. I assume it stands for Blue Split. The biggest chick might be male and has dark blue under fluff. The smallest is a female and has beautiful blue under fluff with black tips. They are under three months old.Does anyone have pictures of blue/splash silkies purchased from Catdance's hatching eggs? Can be chicks or adults. Thanks.
That is definitely one proud chicky, too cute!I wouldn't call it photography because I have had no training or anything. I just got my first DSLR, so for now I just like having fun with it.![]()
