So cute - love that stage. I have 4 inside.. and my broodies are hatching out some now two - they have three.

Are silkie roosters loud in there crow.

All roosters crow differently. I have two boys right now - one is very loud and strong, the other is more muted and raspy. If you want a quiet rooster you need to get a jungle fowl type breed (Sumatra).. not a Silkie.

My Boy, Peep :) He's 5 months old, crowing like crazy & trying to boink my sizzle's face & jump on my smooth sizzle's back. Is that normal at his age? The ladies run and cry !! Country?? This is your freak, non-bearded boy ;)

Nope, that sounds about right for a teenage boy chicken... trying to figure out how things work and raging hormones. He will settle down.. I hope....

I could use a little helpd. One of my favorite show hens has been a little quiet the last couple days..not really eating good. Today I found her with congested head, nose and can't tell for sure but hoping not in her chest. This really hit quick. She is one of my special "children" cause she has a huge crest and I have to lead her around to food...etc. Her eyes are running a lot too. I have had some problems with a few eye infections but they cleared up quickly. I am really worried about her and it would kill me to loose her. I have started her on Duramycin 10 but I also have sulmet. It is hard to find meds around here for poultry so we are limited. Any ideas. I am a bit desperate here.

I recommend using the Sulmet. It works much faster than Duramycin.

Mine has similar symptoms right now, and are also on Duramycin. Sanna's frizzle cochin and my sizzle both have runny noses and are sneezing. They are eating and drinking still, just felt Sanna's girl's crop and it was squishy with some food. Should I stick with the duramycin fro now or get the sulmet? Also which sulmet do I buy? Thank you!
