Silkie thread!

I am truly in love with the silkies , I cannot hold my laying birds like I can them.I just sat there this evening holding my roo and preening his feathers. He loved it. I would like to find a reputable breeder to get some whites and paints and blacks from. Any suggestions. ?

Thanks everyone for your responses about Taco, I think I understand what breed quality means, but no matter what she qualifies for I love her and think she's awesome!

Good Morning, and Happy Thursday!

What color are my chicks?
Originally I was thinking blue partridge, blue and splash, but I'm unsure Chick #3 is a splash - Maybe a lavender?

I know it's far too early to tell sex on them, but I have people telling me (based on head shape and feathering) that the blue may be the only pullet in the bunch.
Thoughts?
Thanks :)

No way to determine gender at this age. Head shape says nothing about gender. The last two look like splash or possibly lavender; the first looks the same, plus some red.

I had a little paint hatch out this morning and when I could see it it was just laying on its back peeping I swooped it over and the hen tucked it under her, she was pecking at it not to hurt it but to get it over and under her, I'm worried, is it normal for hem to not walk good at first? I also have another blue hatching out with one foot out! A very feathery foot!
