Well I had 3 silkies disappear today. No feathers no sign of struggle. My lot is 200 by 75 chainlink. No top. I assume a hawk. Well I am trying something to help but if any have ideas let me know. Thanks. I really don't want to use cd or bags hanging everywhere. But I am trying fishing line across the fence. Got a fourth done. Any suggestions. I do know it illegal to kill him. Well....

I know this is from a post way back. You can go to a greenhouse supplier and buy shade cloth really cheap. It is what I use on top of my run, But if you are in an area where it snows take off in the winter cause it can't go through it. It also gives a bit of shade to the chickens and is completely attack proof from above.

I have two more a black and another partridge that I need to get pictures of. Pretty sure they are both pullets as well. Surely one of the eggs in the incubator will be a cockerel. I think I'm probably the only one who has gotten all pullets this year. lol I have a friend who is more than willing to give me a rooster.

I think the chicken in the second picture is thinking, what is wrong with your feathers! That's why I stay away from the light socket!

LOL... The D'uccle was thinking about stealing Cottons prize. Look in her beak. That group is my odd ball flock. They stick together all the time. Those two and a Sliver Laced Polish and a Sultan. They share a coop with my other Silkies and bantam, but they are the youngest and so far have been inseparable.

I posted a pic of my new Silkie chicks last week they are a silvery white color. This week they are getting wing feathers and I they both have a darker color maybe black coming in on a section of wing but not on both wings. What does this mean in the code of Silkie colors?
