Silkie thread!

Oh I'm sorry

. That was very quick, the panting and wings down aren't necessarily CRD
Do you have them on medicated feed? Cocci will kill very quickly. Sometimes The breathing and wings down are simply their way of showing distress .
If it is Cocci will the Durymicin 10 help? There hasn't been blood in anyones stool. The other chicks are okay except for the little guy.

UGH. guys, I don't know what to do! one of my silkies that hatched end of june, is acting all funny. twisting her head all around and my rooster keeps attacking it. the four from that hatch are huddled up in the corner of the run all the time, I thought they were just keeping warm, but it appears that they are being harassed by him? he keeps charging them. and now this blue one keeps twisting its head. do you think the rooster gave it brain damage?? what could be wrong??

Sounds like wry neck, I would try seperating her and giving her poly-vi-sol. Give a half dropper full twice a day or so. Stress will make it worse also, so keep that in mind.,

No duramycin will make it worse. You want to give Coric, 1 tsp in a gallon of water

Advice needed.

ivwent to let my two chickens silkies out this morning and too came out but hen didn't. I got her out and put her down and she doesn't really move. She does move but looks in pain.

I also felt two hale sized things in her crop. Its hard not squishy or food.

she is only a year in a few months.

I put her inside and opened the door to let her out to fly and when she landed she didn't really land well.

she's never acted like this. Help

could the rooster hurt her. I've had him for a bit over a month and he's been wih her for a week or too. He's been fine with her.

when she cleans her behind or feathers she almost falls over.

She may have eaten something if your sure there is something weird in her crop. You could look into doing a crop surgery. I would also check she isn't egg bound.

How would I know the difference between just respiratory issues and coccid? The vet told me to use durymicin 10 . Im really confused. They are not on medicated feed. I don't care for it. I have had vitamin deficiencies show up from using it.

I would get her to a bird vet if you can =(

What are the symptoms?

It's unusual for a chick to suddenly get CRD , unless you already have it in your flock.
Amprolium is a vitamin B inhibitor , not an antibiotic . If the chicks have only recently been introduced to the soil, then I would be thinking cocci. The coccidias are in the soil, the only thing you can do is give them some immunity to it and treat any chronic outbreaks. Buttermilk is said to be a temporary anti dote , but only while you source corid. If it is just the dust then I would bath the hen and remove the trigger. Good luck.

I have no vets around me who deal wih birds..chickens. But I held her upside down and yellow liquid came out.

also she seemed constipated. I squeezed her butt when I bathes ger and a lot came out.

sour crop maybe? The smell isn't too bad..idk
