Oh my gosh. You must have been devastated. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I am a brand new Silkie momma now. My roo, Squatchie has become very attached to me after only a few days. He got scared when hubby was moving things around in my studio (we're getting new flooring for our living room so a lot of stuff is being stored in there) and Squatchie popped out of his cage and stuck to me like velcro! I had to give him a nice massage to calm him down. I also trimmed a bit of feathering to expose his eyes more- it was so funny when he was able to see more and went about exploring his cage and surroundings. He seems much happier now that he doesn't have to cant his head this way or that to see things. Plus, he has lovely doe-eyes that are like little black jewels. I love him so much. He's my little buddy. I can hardly wait to get more Silkies and the variations e.g. Sizzles etc. I hope he will be a good daddy to some chicks once I get some hens and start to let them breed.
