Begs the question, if you pay through paypal will they refund your money if they don't hatch ?

PayPal only refunds if you don't receive the item or didn't receive what you were supposed to. I guess if you incubated and found them all to be clear/infertile, you may have recourse. But you would have to try to work it out with the seller via PayPal communication before they would issue a refund.

I beg to differ, paypal will refund your money if the item is not as promised or advertised. Hence , fertile hatching eggs that failed to hatch would I imagine fall into that category. I advertise reguraly on gumtree and people are constantly trying to scam me by paying through paypal. Just google paypal scams. That will be enough to scare you off. We have also purchased items through paypal and they have refunded us our money , saying that they will pursue the seller. Just my experience.

you can't really guarantee a good hatch, just that the eggs are fertile. I guess it's similar to selling a cake mix online. Just because you buy the cake mix and follow the directions doesn't mean it's not going to burn if you cook it wrong. Sorry for the weak metaphor, I was trying to equate it to something, and cake is all I could come up with! Lol.

I've received crooked business cards from a company. I can't use them, how unprofessional! But PayPal said since I received it, and it had the picture on it, I wasn't due a refund. As if it had to be stipulated in writing that the business cards should be printed straight...isn't that kind of implied with the term BUSINESS card?

It's all a bit of a ' grey area ' I personally wouldn't sell eggs on ebay. I've had enough people try to get a refund because their chicks were quitters, which was more likely an incubation or humidity issue.

All my eggs got scrambled by the USPS on my last egg shipment. Most expensive eggs I've ever ordered!
I don't even think they consider that "damaged" for the insurance purposes, do they?there was also some broken eggs.

I candled my eggies last night, all are fertile (except the one I chucked) but the one with an unattached air cell, I can't find where the air cell is, but its fertile, it'll probably quite soon.
but im really happy with how they're going

Posting eggs is always going to be a gamble. I do my best to prevent breakage but even that doesn't often yield a very good hatch rate.

In England we put in our ebay adverts that we do not guarantee the eggs will hatch due to the postal system and the way people incubate them but if they send the eggs back at 10 days we will issue a refund. Often it is dearer for them to return them or they will only get a few pounds balance back. We also put that by bidding they agree to these terms.
I know my eggs are fertile as I incubate them in a Brinsea 360 regularly but there are so many outside factors that mess with the growth.
In England we can bypass the tumbler machine by sending them guaranteed next day delivery as they need to be processed manually. Do you have a way you could request your eggs be posted to you that costs a little more but makes it less of a risk?

This is my little silkie chick Dot, she hatched 2weeks ago and has a vaulted skull. Her head has never fluffed up as she constantly rubbed it on the electric hen so her feathers flattened down. I fluffed it up so it wasn't obvious to the other chicks as I saw one peck at her. Whilst using a cotton bud I noticed that there was a light yellowy tinge on it, no blood. When I checked on her again she had flattened it straight back down and it was matted. I've been keeping an eye on her but have noticed it seems to be weeping, it's never wet but there's a constant matted patch. I have now separated her from the others but I don't know what to do with her, someone has said not to clean and fluff it up as I may be causing more harm than good. Can anyone please help?
