Thanks, I just dont know what keeps going wrongI have 4 of the prettiest bearded ones left and one is limping worse today and wont even use its right leg
The others seem fine so far
Wow thats so odd. The lil blue chick was the only one who I saw his toes effected. The chick that got wry neck was walking fine and it was literally over night. The chick I have now that is limping, i figured could possibly be a mistake, maybe she was dropped but not sure. I just bought a huge bag of purina medicated feed. Is there something wrong with the medicated?. Ive been told forever that I need to keep them on it so im confused. How do I know how much Vit b to put over their food? I just use an auto 1quart feeder and they just all eat throughout the day. How would I manage who would get too much or too little of any vitamins I put on it? Doesent those Vit-al powders have vit b in it?There are some infectious diseases that are carried through the egg, this may be something out of your control. Please read the chapter on mycoplasma and if you think that this applies to your babies then perhaps it is time to start them on tylan or erythromycin . I would personally stop the medicated feed and crush a B1 tab into their crumble and forget about the electrolyte and multi vitamins for now. B1 thiamine deficiency often starts in the toes and works it's way up through the legs until ultimately presenting as wryneck .

Oh yeesh... Yeah. I would say this is definitely an issue with that breeder. How horrible, I hate thatIm thinking its the breeder I got them fromHer set up was not very impressive. Chicks and incubators were crowded in a tiny garage and it smelt horrible. The babies looked beautiful on their hatch date when I picked them up so I ignored it and bought them anyway but ive lost three now, and when I went back to get another it still looked horrible and she pulled two more dead babies out of her box. I was desperate for another so I got another anyway but picked the largest healthy looking one with bright eyes and full belly. That chick is still doing just fine so far. She did try to sell me an obviously ill chick while I was there. It was the last black one left and I wanted it so bad cause I was looking for another black and I hoped she'd just let me have it but instead she offered to knock off a few bucks but still wanted five bucks for it. I chose not to because it looked just like the one I lost and I knew it was going to die. She insisted it was fine but it clearly wasent. I knew she was all about profit after that. I have done everything I could think of for these chicks and they still come down ill. I am just praying no more get sick.
Very cute babies!!

I looked through that websight you posted at each of those diseases and the symptoms for each and couldnt find out that directly sounded like any of my sick chicks. All of mine, were all different problems but im sure they are all related to vitamins deficiency.

I had bought a bunch of polish chicks several years ago and one by one they just died off. They would be fine then get sleepy, lethargic and in with in 24 hours it would be dead. I lost one to three a day till they where all gone. I bought one that was a little older than the rest and it lasted the longest. It would stay up on the perch and sleep then get down to eat and drink then take what seemed like a painful poop and back up on the perch. I found it one morning on the brooder floor dead. I have no idea what the problem was. Poops looked normal and they appeared to be healthy but apparently where not. The breeder offered to replace them but I declined and just accepted the $$ loss.I would suspect it is a genetic condition since you got them all from the same breeder![]()
