subhanalah Made me feel wonderful tonite! She told me my eggs I shipped her were 100% fertile and all developed. I couldn't be happier with my roo and his girls. Thanks!!
OOoo, are you selling any whites right now? Are they bearded?

Look up the SOP for Silkies. Probably depends on the show judge as well. I don't show and never will so can't give much past what others have shared with me.
Did that, I did my research. All it mentions is feathering on the outside toes to the middle.

It does not address 'over' feathering. So really, I am looking at those that might have experience with what judges think about it. The SOP addresses what should be there. It is a bit unreasonable to expect them to mention all that should NOT be there. So, I certainly agree with the whole judges perspective on it all.

it does tell you the things that should not be there, they are called faults and disqualifications :)

right, that is why I noted 'all' . Technically, if feathering on all toes would be acceptable, then (and this is just me) I would have worded it "feathering to at least the middle toe" . Anyway, the printed word did NOT answer my question - which is why I posted to those that would have had experience with judging.

oh, if it's not to the letter of the law, it's up to the judge's personal preference. If the judge likes for them to look like that, it's good, if the trend is that it's undesirable, then it's bad.one thing that makes showing so variable.

The way it was explained to me ,by a judge, was that feathering to at least the middle toe is desirable .

Ya
Coming from TSC, who knows the quality of the stock....there is likely a non silkie mixed somewhere there in the pedigree. BUT my most beautiful birds have been silkie mixes...so what you end up with may be truly stunning!:fl
I know, I have seen a lot of good looking ones but I was hoping for a strictly silkie bird. I wasn't thinking when I bought it but I guess we will just have to see what it ends up as!! Hopefully it will be look exactly like a silkie with the exception of the feathered legs
