So Cute! Congratulations! One of Marshies chicks hatched last night! Its a cute little blonde one, so im thinking its part buff laced, since my breeder doesn't separate his colors. I relly hoping its a girl! I also hope the next one that hatches is brown or grey!

The other egg is pipped as well, so it should be out by dinner time. Im relly wanting to buy 2 other ameraucana chicks or polish chicks from my breeder to raise along with these!

I don't know why people say silkies cant be sexed until older. When they are on day 4- 6is when their real wing feathers come in, a good eye can easily tell the difference (most of the time) in the hens and roos. If you wait past that , it is harder to tell. The hens wings are continual, staggered and no spaces between feathers and make a sorta triangle pattern when against the body. The roo wing will be 2 different lengths of feathers and a space in between the 2 lengths. I have a picture example maybe ill see if the quality is good enough from my phone for you to tell the difference.
