By the way just in case you were wondering a silkie cannot cover 20 LF eggs!!! I let her stay broody but these aren't fertile. Apparently she had no issues letting friends share the nest box!

They are gorgeous ! Middle pink toe means they are blues.

I never heard of pink to means blue.. but it's more yellow or our skin color instead of pink

Blue silkies usually have one white/pink toenail or toe .

interesting. Thanks for letting me know. My black also had this. I was just hoping they were my lydias. I think they are. My lydias a blue. She's got dark head and lighter body.or the mother could be a spash hen with lavender in her. I hope not. I hope lydias the real mom.

its dusk almost, so the lighting is weird...I'll try again another time.

This one was hatched Almost 9 weeks ago. I'm going with cockerel. Still too early to tell. ..but that's my guess.

So long as it's under cover. And it needs to be course sand the fine ' play pit ' type is too dusty.
