Silkie thread!

LMAO now your first post makes way more sense to me !! Comb ! yes i know what a comb is wasnt exactly sure what a CONE was lol
Thanks so much , i will get more pictures over the weekend and get close up of their Combs !

It helps to have the correct terminology so that we are all on the same page. Silkies have a Walnut Comb. This link is a good one for bookmarking.

i truly appreciate everyone knowledge and input

Quote: Yes, I agree with daniellecm. Their are lots of people that call combs cones here and that's no big deal. There are lots of different names for chicken, their combs, wattles and feathers.

Lol. So do my friends! They all think I'm crazy when I talk about how awesome my chickens are.

Wondering if there is anyone in Southern Indiana with silkies for sale. Looking for a rooster and two or three hens. Not particular about color, like everything except white.
Catching up on the thread, not sure if anyone already answered you about this. Please check out the INDIANA BYC'ers HERE! thread. They are really friendly and many people have silkies. You can also check out this google doc, which the members maintain. It lists out all the Indiana BYC folks, what kinds of birds they have and where they live. You can easily sort to see who to contact or just post on the thread and I am sure you'll get some answers. :)

Its funny isnt it and the great thing is having these little guys around almost make me feel like a little kid again and provide so much entertainment.
Even my husband who thought i was nuts at first had grown quite fond of the little silkies.
