Yeah - he's my boy (can't help but post another pic of him - in the "hospital" in my basement with his sick hen). His feet are beautiful, Silkie wise anyway. Anyway, a wet rag and blow dryer might just do it. They are a little bit gross and should be nice and fluffy! Probably unhygienic too!! Thanks!

That is correct, white with any other colour is unpredictable .

All I have is corrid. She is on day 3 of that. I've been wanting to give her vitamin E but didn't know if it was safe to do both. I was giving her poly vi sol and 1/4 81mg aspirin. I started with multi vitamins the vet gave me for another chicken. Then when I looked at the label it has iron in it so I went and got poly vi sol. Her tongue was pale before I started her on the first vitamins and after 2 days it turned pink. Then when I started the poly vi sol it turned white again. So I went back to the first vitamin. I haven't been giving her any vitamins for 3 days because I didn't know if I could while giving corrid.. Then I tried the corrid. She is doing well with the tube feeding. She opens her beak when I touch the sides now. I'm using a small syringe with no needle of course. She is pretty strong in her legs but just can't walk. She nearly jumped out of my lap as i was getting her food ready tonight. I caught her in mid air. She seems like she's dizzy. Her head will lay on her back and when she raises it up it slowly goes down in front of her streched out. Sometimes curled under. When she's full she stomps her feet.

If you give vitamins it will negate the corid. The amprolium is a thiamin blocker, it works by blocking the B1(thiamine ) and so starving the coccidia .
Problem is if your silkie is stargazing then she is more than likely B1 deficient. What makes you think cocci? What does her poop look like.
Tough decision , the only way to be certain of cocci would be to take a feacal sample to your vet. But if she is thiamin (B1 ) deficient, amprolium will only make her worse.

I took her off the corrid. I was just trying everything. Her poop is normal. It was a bit runny before. I started giving her vitamin E. I have the jel tabs and I sniped the end and squirted it in her mouth. I checked the bottles of vitamins I have and the poly vi sol and the other one for animals both have Thiamin but they also both have iron. I thought I got the polyvisol with out iron but apparently I got the wrong one. When I started giving her vitamins it was the one the vet gave me before that seemed to help but then I was given advice to give her a low dose aspirin as well as the vitamins. Some one on here said to give her a 1/4 piece. Nobody said how often so I did it once a day. Doc Brown said to give her the aspirin but didn't get back with me on how much of it or how often.
I'll get her back on the vitamins I started her with.

My oldest partridge roo would be 5 . At 9 yours may have fertility issues. only way to know is collect some eggs from his girls and crack some open.
9 is a pretty good innings for any chicken.

Can anyone tell me what these 2 little cuties might end up being color wise and gender wise (best guess)? The darker one is the most outgoing and likes to climb up me and sit on my shoulder.

Need a bit of advice please. I have a 7 month old silkie roo. He's getting really onery. I hatched him myself and he's been my buddy until recently. The last month or so he's been on a mission to tear me to shreds and it's only getting worse. I've tried everything I can think of to snap him out of it. Am I fighting a losing battle? I'm proud of him for being so protective of his hens, after all that's part of his job, but I'm at my wits end with him. It's a battle to feed and water my flock. And my silkies are more pets than anything else and I'd like to be able to cuddle the others without him trying to tear my legs off. I know I could've posted this elsewhere but silkies are so different in so many ways that I thought maybe you all could give me some pointers. I do have young children so if all else fails he has to go. He doesn't mind them at all yet but I don't want that to change suddenly when my 1 year old wants to cuddle a hen.

the same thing has happened to my roo, indie, this past month. he was hand raised and lives in the bachelor pad by himself, but I think its the spring hormones throwing him off. all my roos are like this, and its off because theyre always so sweet!
im selling indie so I can make room for my easter hatch, but id say to hang onto your guy once its later in the spring if he doesn't get too bad.
