My silkie chick (3 weeks old) has obvious muffs but I don't see a beard. Will it come in later? Just wondering. Also, do the muffs indicate a beard will grow in?

Usually you can tell if they have a beard or not right away. Maybe someone has pictures of comparison or somethingMy silkie chick (3 weeks old) has obvious muffs but I don't see a beard. Will it come in later? Just wondering. Also, do the muffs indicate a beard will grow in?

These 2 silkies are my first 2 chickens, other chicks came shortly after. I think the black (or blue? ) one is a rooster, he/she sounds like he's attempting to crow, plus she's substantially larger than Fiona (the smudge, or splash) also the comb is larger, but like I said, they are my first chickens, any thoughts on whether she might be a he? I'm also wondering, if I have a male and female, if I let them have chicks, what are the colors likely to be? Thank you!
I'm not sure how to describe it, like there's a noise trying to come out, but it's having a really hard time, lol. I suspect it's a "crow" because its different than any other noise that they make, and only Petunia (or Phineas if he turns out to be a roo) has made it so far. Also, because he only does it in the morning, usually within a few minutes of the light turning on. I Googled what age a roo starts to crow and they said 3-4 months, but mine's not even 8 weeks until Tuesday. It is fairly obvious, as it is a distinct sound, wish I could get it on video, but he doesn't like to be recorded, lol.
