I would say 7-10

Well, when I get her moved and settled I'll put some Black Java eggs under her. We are supposed to be in the teens for the next couple of nights then it warms up a little. I think I'll give her a couple or three days to see if she sticks with the move befor I give her the eggs. Then I'll see how many it looks like she can manage. She seems so small compared to my other chickens. Six would be great.

Sounds like a plan.
I usually put some ' sacrificial ' eggs under them when I move them into the brooder. Once I'm certain that they are ' bunkered down ' I replace them with fertile eggs.

Can anyone tell me how to keep my Silkies top so they can see. My wife will not allow me to trim them.
