Silkie thread!

here is a preview before my good up close photo shoot. Most seem to be partridge? Thought that was odd as the hen that did most of the laying was white as a chick and is painted now. I have 2 Roos, a white and black. What do you think of the colors? Too early to tell? Two of them are definitely black/grey

Anyway about half I can tell already will have impressive crests. All my silkies seem to have nice beards.

Am I a day late and a dollar short or has this info from the University of Edinburgh been around for a while re GM chickens that don't spread bird influenza?  I couldn't find a date on the article:

Based off of this other article, they did this in 2015. It's very interesting and could be an end to the outbreaks of bird flu. I hope they develop it further. (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/genetically-modified-glow-in-the-dark-chickens-could-beat-bird-flu/

I don't have a picture, but one of my 8 week old Silkie's comb/wattles are turning pink/reddish... Is this normal? I read mixed info on it just being a sign of maturity, male gender sign, etc. Help? TIA!

My thoughts too. It's the childrens and I don't know silkies well enough to be confident but we also have white ones. Some feathers are whitish on these is that normal for buffs ?
Yes. A white silkie is pure white even young. I think A buff can come in different shades of light and dark and yours appears to be on the lighter side.

Very cute :)
