Thanks for looking! She had some obvious partridge newborns that were dark with the chipmunk pattern, but I doubt this little one looked anything like that. I'm guessing that's why she termed it a blue partridge. Now that I look at adult plumage pictures for porcelain silkies, it seems to line up with what I'm seeing so far. Interesting.....and very cool.....

My favorite thing about having chickens is the different colors and patterns! Especially Silkies. Plus, I think it's hilarious when they're feathering flows in the wind

I love the porcelain is it hard to find ? And would it be as obvious as this little fluff so sweet by the way. I love the color I know I am going to keep a trying till I get a little girl I have been raising boys not by choice just luck but love them all and always found good homes.

I have no idea! I would think so. I've never seen them advertised myself. The breeder said it came out of her "Blue" pen, so my guess is she had some recessive genes going on and it was a surprise. She really thought it was a partridge. She's also new to the color and said she hasn't seen any of her "patridge" stock grow to adults yet. When I saw it, I knew it wasn't a partridge. I didn't know what it was! It took a little investigating to finally find a color direction to go in....hence the Porcelain. I'll have to wait and see it grow more to know for sure.

I also have yet to have a Silkie girl. The odds seem unlikely unless you're willing to brood a good dozen or more. I also got a splash with this little one, so my fingers are crossed I get one female :) Two would be a miracle in my eyes. Lol

I am leaning in the direction of just that, getting a dozen or so as you said . I did see someone advertise silkies on Craig's list and I asked if any female and they said yes I asked how they knew, and the replay was a keen eye. But as week old not sure about that. But you have a pretty baby there love the color it will be nice to see it grow.
