Silkie thread!

Yestrday i,found one of my 5 month old silkie chickens in a nesting box with one of my BO. I kicked her out of the box assuming she was hiding from the 5 month old silkie Roosters who were mounting her. It was my understanding that silkies take about 8 months to a year to lay. Well yesterday we found a little brown egg. I assumed one of my buff laid a wing egg. My kids thought it was adorable. We saved it to show their friends. Well today I found her back in the egg box and left her there, came back later and found another little egg. Could it really be that my 5 month old silkie is reAlly laying. And aren't her eggs supposed to be whit?

It looks a bit like the hatching eggs I recieved for my partridge silkies. Iys a little darker tinted but they can come in different shades. :)

this is freddie mac picking in my yorkie idk if its a rooster or hen but loves picking on my dogs!!!
idk roo really doesn't mind being held I was hugging and kissing him and he doesn't even throw a fuss like all my hens do!!! it just he goes after toes in the morning!!!
Cute pictures and glad the roo is better behaved now :) and perhaps try wearing closed toed shoes in their pen or around them? Also, I really dont mean to offend here but its been bugging ne so i have to ask, are you sure it's a yorkie? Again I really don't mean to offend but it's just it looks more like a schnauzer or schnauzer mix to me. But either way, it is a very very cute dog :D and sorry. Oh and your roo is gorgeous so i hope you don't have to get rid of him

That could very well be a silkie egg. I currently have 7 adults silkie hens and I get eggs ranging from brown to cream to white. Size looks about right too. My girls started laying ranging from 5 months to 11 months- most about 6-7 months old. This is a silkie egg with a wyandotte and a welsummer. -all pullets
