I have a few questions regarding the following chicks. Each questions is with each chick to try to keep this post simple and straight forward.

CHICK ONE (Bellow)
1) What is this chicks color? As it only has black on the tips of its wings.
2) What is this chicks gender? This chicks hatched on March,13th,2017. I know its still to early to tell sex for sure but any guess would be welcome.







CHICK TWO (Below)
1) What color would you call this chick? (it is a silkie cross)

The Black wing tips look neat! Never saw it before in Silkie!

The cross-Silkie has a brown chipmunk stripe on its back the way Partridge Silkie chicks look but who knows what the adult feathers will be! Depends on what the parents were.

Most of my birds are around the correct weights. I should get a weight on his parents. Neither are exceptionally large.

5-6 a week is normal in my experience. When they are actually laying, they are my best layers. They go broody several times a year so they are not good producers.

I always have some silkie eggs to eat, though, no matter what time of year. Even if the large fowl are taking a break the silkies are dependable.

I have 19 mature hens. 5 are broody. I got 12 eggs yesterday and today.

Hello I am new to chicken farming. I have 6 chickens; 5 hens and 1 rooster. I have 2 leghorn mixes, 3 silkie/cochin mixes and 1 silkie.

My question is about the silkie. Her wings are really weird (assuming abnormal). Her feathers that are on the tip of her wings do not have any barbs/ barbules, only the veins. Should I be concerned? She is going to be a year old next month. She's broody (but nice about it) and a loner from the group. I have recently noticed her wings change around the same time she became broody. And clumps of her fluffy feathers on the ground... not at an alarming rate but I don't notice any other chicken's feathers anywhere.
