Three Chickens, it was good to finally meet you at the last Bent Creek Swap. Your silkies are just BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for sharing pictures of them with us. I got a new silkie hen from Sunshine at the swap. She's laid 6 eggs that are likely to be fertile. She is paying them no attention at all. What can I do to encourage her to 'go broody' and sit on them? Do they have to lay a certain number before they decide to set? I thought Silkies went broody at the drop of a hat.....but not mine.....Noooooooo, that would be too easy! HA!

I think they have a mind of there own...My one girl tried to go broddy everyday I caught her sitting in the box with no eggs and I had to throw her out all day

Now I want her broody I think she is holding a grudge
