I'm so excited for you!!! If I got multiple lav babies all at once I think I'd be so excited just to see all that lavender!
So tell me your plans for when they grow up?
What do you want to do with them? Cross them with some gorgeous blacks? Got anyone in mind?
I did see them Ultasol - Thank you -- I'm really trying to work with what I have . I know my hen is light thats why I was trying to see if the Roo would be a good cross - I'm hopeing to pare her with a darker Roo . She really is good in all other aspects hopeing her offspring will still have her good traits but with a more detailed partridge look - I've been buying partridge eggs and hatching and growing them out for over a year now and am just now trying to start a couple breeding pens of partridge with the ones I've kept . Finding who will match ( enhance ) who is really harder then one thinks . Especially when their colors range so much . It's fun too . I was kinda hopeing to see how others partridge silkies looked . Hint Hint Do you raise partridge silkies ?? And yes Colie I did know - but I always apperciate good advice -- for someone that has only been in silkies for a few months - you are not shy to try and help

Yes my plan is to breed them to some very NICE NICE blacks...
Here is the girl I wanna use, She was VERY VERY black but she is sun bleached she loves the sun..LOL I don't plan on showing her so I am not worried about it. I also have some nice young roo's I hatched from her I am watching grow and waiting to see which one turns out the best which all of them are. Maybe in two years I can offer some VERY nice Lavender/Split lavender babies/eggs.
BTW: This girl is super blind I have tried trimming her crest its a waste of time I can't get it short enough..LOL
The splash silkie posted above got shipped to me about 25 days ago and she layed an egg in the box so i put it in the coop with her. Then she layed a second egg and the next day went broody! You have no idea how excited i was cuz my roo died in transit and i was hopeing i would get a rooster. Well after about a week and a half i found an egg out from under neath her but i didnt worry about it cuz it was still warm, then that night it was out from underneath her again and it was cold! I was sooo worried it died and the next morning it was out from underneathe her again and cold again! Then that night i went in the and one was broken and i was so worried id find a baby chick but luckly it was unfertile, and the one still underneath her was fertile so i didnt worry too much. Then a couple days later i went out there to check on her and she was off the egg and running around having fun and the egg was cold AGAIN! By then i was convince it was dead but i set up the incubator and put it in there anyways just for the heck of it. Well it was due on the 28th and no one was home and i came home today and look what i found in the incubator!!!
And its feet are sooo dark with perfectly spaced toes and 5 on each side, sorry it blurry but you can see the color and fuzz
Beautiful color but in the fall I'm entering my last year of a Bachelors in Nursing program, and my time will be even more precious than now. The clinical hours more than double, and the teachers for these classes are notoriously difficult, that and with the approval of self-blue and finally getting some better type in youngsters, I want to work with them. I never had many partridge, and I sent a really nice hen and a cock home with the lady I got the cock from (it was a 'here he is but if you ever get rid of him I want him back' thing).. and now I have two partridge showgirls, three partridge pullets, and a cock (several are from Catdance) left.
Half of them are molting right now. The showgirls are very nice and are one of my favorites. I will be sad to see them go, but space and time is an issue.
Then I will only have blacks, blue/splash, white, buff, lavender/lav splits to worry about. I am also getting rid of the porcelains.
